GHOST ORCHARD BUNNY

Lo-fi songwriter Sam Hall combines a multitude of genres in his new album Bunny under his artist name Ghost Orchard. Think Tuung meets Steve Lacey. In other words, he merges alt-folk guitars with hip-hop beats and bedroom R&B-pop. ‘Bunny’, the third track from the record uses distorted and clean jazz chords that evoke a sense of liberty. Sam’s vocals are mumbled close to the mic, adding a certain intimacy whilst trap beats are busy, juxtaposing with the warmth of the other components. The outro becomes more electronic, with his vocals tuned higher - speeding up to a spoken word style of rap, and intersected with digital spasms. - Ellie Davies
